Geins't Naït / Permis De Construire - Interview [Radio Broadcast Series #2]

Cassette
Exclusive recordings, France, 1989

Geins't Naït (featuring Laurent Petitgand) will be performing live in Paris on october 11th 2008 at "L'Étrange Musique - Acte 2" festival, Maison Des Métallos, with Double Nelson, Étant Donnés, Ilitch and Palo Alto.
So I thought that was the right time for a few Geins't Naït posts...
Geins't Naït was a duo (Vincent Hachet & Thierry Merigout) from Nancy, France, whose records were released on the Permis De Construire label, from Nancy as well.
That first post is a double exclusive interview of Geins't Naït (Thierry Merigout) and Permis De Construire (Richard Franoux). The Permis De Construire side features unreleased tracks by Geins't Naït and Laurent Pernice...

Update (2009) : another Geins't Naït interview recorded after the concert at L'Étrange Musique festival can be downloaded here.

Label : CorZar Records, Russia, 2004 (Unofficial release)

In a comment to the "Berlin Atonal" post I made a few weeks ago, IRONFLAME.de anounced a forthcoming festival that would be a kind of "Berlin Atonal" following. "Berlin Bruit" will take place on august 30th and will feature amongst others the mysterious and legendary Werkbund !
To celebrate that event, I've decided to post the two Werkbund records that are not available on blogs yet.
The first is the unofficial CD released by russian label Corzar Records, that includes the two vinyls "Tanz Und Andacht" (1997) and "Rungholt" (1989).
The second post will be their last LP, "Weit Draussen", released in 2006 by Walter Ulbricht Schallfolien.

M. Finnkrieg - Exit/Accidental

Cassette, C60
Label : Deaf Eye, Germany, 1988

The 80's post-industrial cassette network has given birth to jewels that sometimes unfortately remained obscured. Some of the most brilliant tapes were never rereleased on vinyl or CDs, such as those by Maybe Mental or La Sonorité Jaune just to mention a few names... M. Finnkrieg is one of these artists who deserved a larger recognition. Mike, the owner of Berlin-based Deaf Eye label, released three cassettes under that name. The first one, "Down The Poppy Stairs Of Heaven", was issued on Deaf Eye and later rereleased by Harsh Reality Music in the US. The second cassette, "Exit/Accidental" is my favourite ; it contains short tracks of experimental synth-pop and has always reminded me early Severed Heads records. The third and last one, "Worth Less Than Ideas", was released by Audiofile Tapes in the US and is very good as well ; I can post it later if there's any interest...

Another CD was later released under the name Dark Vomal Âme-Code, but I've never heard it. In 1995, he performed live at the "Expériences" festival organized by G.M.B.H. label in Paris. Les Nouvelles Propagandes

French label Les Nouvelles Propagandes was founded in Tours during the eighties to release recordings by Minamata and his ex-members' new projects.

Minamata was one of the most radical industrial french bands of the eighties. They recorded three cassettes : "Mit Lautem Geschrei", "Methylmercure" and "Niigata 1964-1965" ; one more was released after their split, "Résiduels". After the recording of "Niigata 1964-1965", the three Minamata members (Marie, Tiburce & Xavier) disagreed about the musical orientation of the band and then decided to stop it.
Tiburce created his mythical solo project La Nomenklatur, whose debut cassette, "La Légende Des Voix", was the first Les Nouvelles Propagandes release (and was later rereleased on CD by Ant-Zen).
Marie recorded a brilliant cassette of dark minimal synth under the name Sønntag, but unfortunately never appeared again as far as I know...
During summer 1989, Tiburce and Xavier reformed Minamata to record new material by request of a japanese label wanting to put it on LP, but that project failed and the new recordings were finally released as "Tomoko Uemura" CD by Les Nouvelles Propagandes.
In 2007, "Niigata 1964-1965" was re-released on CD as "Niigata" by french label Nuit Et Brouillard with bonus material recorded in 2002.
Jean-Yves Millet, the owner of the label and the man behind the one-cassette-only project Cent Ans De Solitude, is still selling some Les Nouvelles Propagandes releases here and here.

More about La Nomenklatur / Tiburce will be posted soon...

Abner Malaty - Astral Decay

Cassette, C60
Label : Tonspur Tapes, Germany, 1988

Ancel Creamer, alias Abner Malaty, released a dozen tapes of ambient industrial music in the late eighties and early nineties. Though he gained recognition at that time, I fear he's been totally forgotten now...
If I shoud keep only one cassette by Abner Malaty, that would be "Astral Decay", so I share it as an introduction to the man's musical world for those who don't know it yet...

L'Akstremaunçió - Hradschin

Cassette, C40
Label : Self-released, Spain, 1984
Ripped by esnail

As far as I know, this is the first cassette by obscure catalan noise band L'Akstremaunçió. Their second cassette, "Pogrom A Aschkenas", has been posted on Dualtrack and The Thing On The Doorstep. In the comments of the Dualtrack post, DDV wrote that "Hradschin" was packed in X-ray plates (I can't confirm as I only have the files). In the comments of The Thing On The Doorstep post, an ex-member of L'Akstremaunçió wrote to say thanks... Maybe he (or someone else) could give us now more infos about "Hradschin" ?
