BSL - Fleuron de l'Industrie Française

Audiofiles
Label : Nostalgie De La Boue [ndlb#192], Ivory Coast, 2024

BSL industries was Europe's most modern boiler-making plant. Established in 1955 near Soissons in Aisne department (France), it employed up to 1,100 people and left its mark on the history of the French steel industry. Liquidated in 2002 after several successive crises and struggles by workers, BSL saw its machinery and equipment sold off, drawing a line under several decades of existence. The BSL project is a tribute to this industrial heritage, using sound to recreate the noises that could be heard in the 23,000 square metres factories at the time.
