Patrick Wiklacz is passionate about synthetic sounds. He combines the practices in electroacoustic music (GRM) with influences from German experimental music from the 1970's and minimal composition, thus creating a very singular proposition.

He has produced sonic environments (Nuit blanche, Versailles, 2015), radio compositions (France Musique), and took part in many musical events, like the Paris Ambient Festival. But he has always kept a distance with the institutional scene and withdrawn himself from agitation, to concentrate for many years on a delicate work, at times minimal, ambient, drone or acousmatic.

Mixing surrealist reminiscences and buddhist resonances, Patrick Wiklacz patiently grows his secret garden of electronic sounds.

"Achieved Morse Transmissions", the follow-up to "Failed Morse Transmissions", is NLC's second foray into ambient drone. Throughout each of the album's six full-length tracks we find atmospheres from previous works, distorted and triturated, sometimes stretched and unraveled, like memory snippets passed through a dreamlike filter. The sound loops often use high-pitched or even over-pitched drones and progressively bring a throbbing groove coming from sample connections or the appearance of parasitic noises, such as these pseudo-glitches generated by analogical synthesizers. After some time of listening, these insidious rhythms end up affecting and influencing our biorhythms, in a way that depends on the degree of attention, adhesion and abandonment of each one...

Sidekick Wave is the primary musical project of traveling musician/yoga & meditation teacher/poet, David Miller, and his various collaborators. After several singles, EPs, and compilation tracks crossing through a multitude of genres, "Withered" is the first Sidekick Wave album.

"Withered" evokes memories of an era when industrial music was new, and its sound less defined; just as likely to cross over into Post Punk or Dark Ambient as the dance floor. "Withered" is like memory of music from a dream, where the drifting mind merged distant memories of early Psychic TV, Sleep Chamber, Current 93 with Can, Klinik, Skinny Puppy, She Wants Revenge, hardcore Devo, Youth Code and the Revolting Cocks but the dream logic has warped them into their own beast, never merely imitative.

"Withered" is an album about death, love, ritual and devotion. The lyrics are primal, improvisational, and born from mortality and loss. The song-oriented first tracks (1-4) are followed by more expansive and meditative tracks (5-8).
