Followers of that blog probably know or have heard about english duo Pump. Last year, a few months after one member of the duo (Andrew Cox) passed away, their second album, Sombrero Fallout, was finally released, 17 years after it was recorded ! To complete that re-discovery, Forced Nostalgia has just re-released the excellent first Pump album, The Decoration Of The Duma Continues, that will be soon available on CD for the very first time...
I thought that was the right time to help discover their earlier work. Before Pump, Andrew Cox and David Elliott were playing as MFH and were running the YHR Tapes label. Andrew Via was kind enough to rip four tapes of that label that I'm gonna post now. Let's begin with "First Move", the very first tape of both MFH and YHR Tapes.

Trait is Eric Lunde, an artist who has been prolific in music during the 80s and early 90s and has been releasing many new CDs lately. More info here.
Trait has released two cassettes in 1988. "Inspirationals" was re-released on CD by Industrial Recollections in 2009 but "Acephalia" had fallen into oblivion... til now !

Metgumbnerbone - For The Raven

Metgumberbone is mostly known as the author of the "Ligeliahorn" LP, released by a great label - a-mission records -, but quite boring as stated by Asmus Tietchens, who decided to offer his brilliant "Seuchengebiete" LP to the same label to show the difference ("After listening to this album I was convinced that I could deliver a better description of an atmosphere of emptiness and isolation than them, because firstly I'd be doing it without all that childish theatre, and secondly because I'd be able to describe it much better soundwise"). A remixed version of "Ligeliahorn" was later released on CDr and is available here.
"For The Raven" was probably recorded after "Ligeliahorn" and I like it better. According to Styggelse, this is an "unreleased cassette originally intended for release on Nekrophile Rekords in 1984".

"This is the Punchline" by Not Half is the first post of a new series of exclusive recordings that sees Nostalgie De La Boue becoming partly a kind of blog-label.
Artists in post-industrial and experimental genres who would like to see some of their soundworks posted in that series can contact me - tristankoreya(at)yahoo.fr - and I'll see if that fits. Of course, in the very spirit of that blog, archive material is prefered, but recent work is welcome as well, especially from veterans.

Not Half is the solo project of Allan Conroy, who began doing music under that name in the eighties and became active again during the last decade. Al was also running the Industrial Therapy Unit cassette label and created more recently Dimetrodon Recordings to release new Not Half material on CDr.

"This is the Punchline" was recorded live on May 22nd 2011 at the Pyramid Cabaret, Winnipeg. Also playing that night were Merzbow and Venetian Snares.
